Season Record: 45-31-3 (69%)
Last Week: 3-1

As we come to a close here in 2013, the NFL schedule is heating up while the temperature drops. I’ve basically assured myself another +.500 regular season and I’m very excited about that. Here are the picks for Week 16 and also a video of our picks on the 14A Sports Radio Show:

CAROLINA -3 (buy to -2.5) over New Orleans

We all know the struggles that Drew Brees and co. had on the road this season, and I expect that to continue. This will be the biggest game for the Panthers in the Cam Newton administration and the crowd will be rocking. New Orleans kicked the crap out of Carolina two weeks ago, and it’s unlikely that the Saints will repeat that. New Orleans will also start the Combine darling from last year, Terron Armstead, at left tackle. He’s only played 17 snaps this season – all on special teams.

PANTHERS 27 Saints 17

WASHINGTON +3 (buy to +4) over Dallas
  • Division/rivalry game
  • Dallas in December = no way I’m taking that
  • Skins look good with Kirk Cousins under center

I’m gonna say Dallas wins but it’ll be by a field goal or less. Washington has been a major disappointment this season and there’s nothing they would love more than to knock off the Cowboys.

COWBOYS 24 Redskins 23

DENVER -10 (buy to -9) over Houston

Peyton Manning and the Broncos got smoked at home last Thursday night so they’re going to be hungry. They’ve had 10 days to not only stew in the defeat, but prepare as well. Houston, like Washington, probably wants to put up a good showing to close out the season but when you’re the worst team in the league going against Peyton indoors, you will get bet against.

BRONCOS 45 Texans 24

INDIANAPOLIS +7 (buy to +8) over Kansas City

This is going to be a great game contrary to popular belief. Andrew Luck played well last week and that will continue from now until the end of the season. I think this team is ready to break out and be who we all thought they were early in the season. KC’s defense has been giving up a lot of points so I’m calling for the upset.

COLTS 24 Chiefs 17

CHICAGO +3 (buy to +4) over Philadelphia

This game could be one of the best we have seen this season. It’s a vital game for the Bears as they own the division by a game right now; for the Eagles, they have to wait and see if it matters:

  • If the Cowboys beat the Redskins earlier in the day, the 8:30 game means nothing to Philly. *They will still have to beat the Cowboys next week for the division title whether they win or lose against Chicago.
  • If the Cowboys lose to the Redskins, the Eagles clinch the division with a win over the Bears.

It’s fascinating to see what will happen if Dallas wins because we may see Chip Kelly rest the starters. I would bet this early in the day at +3 because you could see a drastic dip in the line, depending on what happens in Washington.

As for the game, Chicago’s receivers can beat the Eagles secondary all day. Jay Cutler can torch them if he’s standing up; I mean look what Matt Cassel did to them last week. It’ll be a shootout one way or the other but the Bears are going to put up more points.

BEARS 34 Eagles 31

SAN FRANCISCO -13.5 (buy to -12.5) over Atlanta

This will be the final game for the Niners at Candlestick (unless something bizarre happens in the playoff picture.) All the Niner greats will be on hand, and the atmosphere will be electric all night. Also, we know how much Atlanta struggles against running quarterbacks. They don’t have a chance in this one.

NINERS 31 Falcons 14
