Drew is the Draw

In the offseason, all you heard was Sandy Alderson making statements about how bad Miguel Tejada is. Can you believe that? He was bad-mouthed by the Mets front office. While you have an $85 million payroll, get in contact with Scott Boras, shut your mouth and sign Stephen Drew!

Unfortunately, Matt Harvey will not be pitching this season for the Mets. Yes, they have question marks but we can all say that they are improving their team. The Mets pitching rotation will be good and next year it has to be even better. But right now, it is time to play some meaningful baseball.

Curtis Granderson strikes out a lot, but he’s an upgrade. By the way, Alderson, please don’t use the excuse of signing Bartolo Colon to take Harvey’s spot in the rotation, and not signing a short stop to your liking. You talked bad about Miguel Tejada, and not to mention Ike Davis, who you couldn’t get rid of for a bag of balls.

2014 was your projected year. The rotation is decent, yet the bullpen is a question mark. It doesn’t matter to the Met fan that’s been told 2014 was the year the club showed improvement and competitiveness. Projecting this club to win 90 games with this roster/payroll doesn’t help Terry Collins get his job done.

To the Wilpons, the loyal Met fans know you want to win; the Met fans just want their frustration to end. But please, don’t be naive. The Bernie Madoff situation hurt this franchise and having a bad team again will hurt their attendance. So why not put all the eggs in one basket?

The Mets will have Matt Harvey back next season. Noah Syndegaard will be in the rotation and just maybe, they can add bats and muster some more offense. Case in point, SIGN STEPHEN DREW!

Stephen Drew will improve their lineup. The Met fan isn’t asking for a championship, but an improved season. To be honest, they’ll fill seats because of it! Since Alderson was way off on the Nelson Cruz signing to Baltimore and he’s got some ground to make up.
