The 2013 NFL Free Agent Draft (picks 21-25)

#21: Cincinnati Bengals: Aqib Talib – CB

I honestly believe the Bengals are a secondary away from taking over the AFC North. While their biggest need is at Safety, the better player available is at cornerback. Nate Clements and Adam Jones are both free agents this year, and since character was never an issue with Marvin Lewis in Cincy, they upgrade the position with Talib.

#22: St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins): Julian Edelman – WR

Since the Dallas Cowboys shocked the world by taking Wes Welker (evidently making Jeff Fisher mad), and the Rams unable to draft Danny Amendola (rule #1), St. Louis takes Julian Edelman. A slot man that would fill a needed spot. Thus, giving Sam Bradford another reliable reliable weapon.

#23: Minnesota Vikings: Sebastian Vollmer – RT

Minnesota desperately needs a WR to give Christian Ponder an aerial weapon outside of Percy Harvin. Unfortunately, all the receivers with a first-round grade have either been locked up by their current teams (Bowe, Hartline) or are off the board (Jennings, Wallace, Welker). The best receiver remaining, Danny Amendola, does many of the same things Harvin does, just not as well.  Instead of reaching for an area of need, the Vikings will stay true to their board and the the best player available.  With the impending loss of RT Phil Loadholt, the Vikings will strengthen a team-strength by taking RT Sebastian Vollmer.  As if AP didn’t have a big enough 2012 season, the Vikes may have added the best RT in the game.  Vollmer elevates the level of the Vikings line play, which elevates their entire offense.

#24: Indianapolis Colts: Danny Amendola – WR

With Donnie Avery and Austin Collie hitting the market and Reggie Wayne older than last year, the Colts need speed at Wide Receiver. Indianapolis will move forward with some young talent at the position in Amendola, TY Hilton, and LaVon Brazil. Indy also needs to protect Luck, but with Vollmer coming off the board in the preceding pick, the Colts at least get their young star another target.

#25: Seattle Seahawks: Richard Seymour – DE/DT

There are no more quality receivers or difference makers if you will. So why not add flexibility to the defensive front. They already have speed in the LB position. They already have a very good safety. They have lockdown corners on both sides. Pete Carroll can be relentless with this pick up!
